Wow! Wonderful weather today. In the low 70s for the first time in a long time (on a weekend anyway) and the soil is warming up nicely. With potential for a frost rapidly dropping and about 3 weeks from May 1st (traditional last frost day in Chicago area), I’ll be pushing th is weekend to get much of the early spring maintenance work done like putting up the new pea trellis system and getting the beds ready for planting. I’ll be pushing to get the early seeds in the ground like beans, peas and potatoes. Seedlings still need to stay indoors for the new few weeks but seeds should be safe to plant outside.
Whoo hooo! I LOVE SPRING.

Here’s the progress for the day.

if you lived here your stuff would have been in the ground weeks ago………..perhaps you would even be eating the fruits of your labor right now…………..
Yes yes…and if we all moved to Costa Rica we could garden all year round. I won’t be returning to live in SoCal anytime soon if at all. I’d consider the Sierra Nevada mountains, but that’s about it.
I miss my baby boy………..
