After a horrible night sleep in the crappy Lubbock Inn (3 diamond in the AAA book) we had breakfast at IHOP with the intent to just head home. Then Paul throws a curveball and were going to chase after all but we must leave no later than 7pm.
11:25am – Back up into the same area as yesterday, NE NM.
1:30pm – Ice cream break. Heading NW to Dalhart, TX. CU fields starting to form to the west.
2:20pm – Boise City, OK is new target for gas stop.
3:20pm – Gas stop over. Making a go of the storm that just popped to our east. It’s here, we’re here, why not. My first chase in OK.
4:25pm – Beautiful beavers tail SW of Stratford, TX
5:30pm – NWS is calling Paul for updates so we are staying with this storm. Keeps tripping the TVS.
6:00pm – 1.75″ hail. no damage.
6:05pm – Heading to Chicago. Homeward bound to kids, wife and a warm bed…or is that a warm wife?
