| Folks sitting around the breakfast area of the hotel getting the morning weather briefing. No wait..that's the weather channel...nevermind...it's just background noise. An occasional snide remark is thrown at the TV while we wait for Paul and Matt to tell us what bad news they have today. | |
| This is what happens when you leave your camera unattended. Matt leaves you a present | |
Softball game to kill the time waiting for storms to fire. One of the most beautiful days I've seen in a long time. Great weather...unfortunately.
I don't know what rules Paul's plays by but somehow we ended up with a tie at the end of the game. I suspect the games always end in a tie. |

After lunch and the softball we head to the Stockyards in Fort Worth, TX
We arrive just in time for the main tourist attraction of pushing a "herd", and I use that term loosely, of cattle that looked like they had walked the streets 1 million times before down the main street. Best part about the whole thing was the long horns. When they say "long" they mean long!

Paul and I go boot hunting. Paul already has permission from his wife to buy boots...I do not.
While Paul is trying on some boots, which he eventually purchased, I'm checking out the boot vault where the shoes are $700 and up. They take their boots very seriously here.
Paul goes for a pair of Tony Lamma Ostrich boots that are very nice and I decide it would best if I return home to a happy wife, instead of one shaking her head. | |
| The crew meets up as requested just around the corner from the Cattlemans. Paul and I have already made reservations and checked out Billy Bob's honkey tonk (western bar)...the worlds largest. I have to agree..it's one VERY large place, and Paul says they pack in several thousand during concerts. They even have a small bull riding arena for professional bull riding. | |

| Cattleman's for dinner. Plenty of steak and ribs for everyone. I have to admit it was very good. Several of us split a very good bottle of Shiraz wine from Australia. Even with the wine, tax and tip the bill is only about $35 a person. Reasonable price for what some would argue is one of the top 5 steak places in the United States. | |
