We wake up in Kansas City, MO for our last day of CoD Trip 1. It holds the best potential for chasing, actually the first real chase potential in 9 days. 10:00am : SPC has not been hyping today but they do have a slight day 1 probability out for NE Nebraska. Paul has [...] 11:00am : Been down for 6 days with nothing but blue skies and beautiful weather. We spent 2 nights in San Antonio, 1 night in Fredericksburg, and 2 nights in Fort Worth area. Beautiful weather sucks for storm chasing. We have to be home Sunday night, no exceptions. Using shortest path routing, it’s 8 [...] Miles: 480 9:00am : Up and doing maps. Lots of precipitation ongoing but nothing particularly severe. We are hoping destabilization caused by day time heating will cause some isolated cells to go severe. 10:40am : Discussion with Paul regarding if we should stay in the Ark-La-Tx region in the trees and overcast or head [...] Miles: 390 8:35am : Vans are getting loaded and gassed.
